Postcards from the POSTAL NATION

In the decade that the POSTAL franchise has stalked the Earth, our success can be attributed primarily to two things: Good games and even better fans. We genuinely believe that our fans are the most creative, passionate and supportive group of gamers on this planet. As a result, Postal Nation has no geographic borders; rather, it is a state of mind that spans the globe. Our fans enjoy indulging in some harmless fun and they possess a sense of humor, and we want to thank you all from the bottom of our withered, black hearts.

Now let’s hear from some of those fans as well as checking out some of their most creative contributions to our legacy.

POSTAL Lego Video - Part 2

FAN: Vince, this is Alan Siegel from Mesa. I called your cell and got you in N.Y.C. at MTV studios doing an interview [and you answered]. What a surprise! I thought at best, I would get an answering machine; I hope I didn't screw up your interview.

I must tell you, that I got to be ten feet tall in my son's eyes when I told him what happened. "You called who?", "Where?", "Spoke to a producer at MTV?" Understand he is 14. I am always explaining to him that all guys have to unzip their pants to pee. You can respect a man for what he has done in life but never think he's any better than you, and if a man won't talk to you because he thinks he's better, he's no man at all. I think it's slowly sinking in.

Thanks so much for the "package" [some extra goodies Vince sent along]. You didn't have to and that makes it all the more special. He gave me the "you're from another planet" look when I showed it to him. Please thank Mike J, he was a blast.

Well time to get back to what I should be doing, P2AW.

Regards and many thanks,
Alan Siegel

VINCE: My pleasure, Alan. When we say that we owe everything to our fans, we aren’t just blowing smoke. It’s gamers like you and your son who have kept this franchise pumping along despite many attempts to derail it. We made it to our 10 th Anniversary thanks to POSTAL fans and we’re not apt to ever forget that.

Here at Running With Scissors we receive a lot of fan made art, music and content.  I received this piece of music from a fan named Martin Lim.  It is his band Geordi La Force and the song is entitiled “The Baguette of Phil Collins (Going POSTAL Version).”

FAN: Hey Vince,

Huge fan—love POSTAL, POSTAL 2, AW7, Eternal Damnation, and Share the Pain.

I got a kick out of the Senator Joseph McCarthy Library on Tuesday [regarding] POSTAL 2. I did a little research on this McCarthy fellow; real nice guy. While doing the research I found out that he is buried within a half hour's drive from where I live. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up so I stopped over there and snapped a couple photos with my digital camera. Hope you like them!

Sincerely,
James Maki 'AKA - Postal 2 fan-atic'

PS - Can't wait for the movie!

RWS: Yeah, we’re sure “Tailgunner Joe” would have jumped right into the POSTAL controversy with both feet. And we’re certainly delighted to see our efforts leading to academic study and political awareness, especially in this, our Independence Issue of POSTAL NATION.

Here lies Joe McCarthy. Still lying after all these years, eh, Joe?
A POSTAL fan pays his respects—or is it his disrespects?—to the notorious Sen. Joseph McCarthy, biggest 1950s monster this side of Godzilla.

"‘POSTAL’ is sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll and the best crazy gameplay there is … hell yeah!"
